Program Description

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, credit unions have granted forbearance and loan extensions on billions of dollars in mortgage loans to help their members.

Our expert panel will review the approaches and methodologies for structuring a forbearance program to help you gain a better understanding of the applicable accounting rules and principles related to loan forbearance. Utilizing the two frameworks for structuring your program, the CARES Act, and Inter-agency Guidance, this session will examine the areas of Troubled Debt Restructurings (TDR) classification, income recognition, and an overview of significant accounting issues related to COVID-19 loan payment “deferment.”

Program Length: 90 Minutes
