“Due Diligence”: the two most important words in the loan participation process. Understanding just what questions to ask and starting small with what you know can help credit unions gain experience. Join us for an interactive discussion that will explore the risks, rewards, and regulations from experts in the field.


  • Mike Dorsett, President of Portfolio Performance, LLC will discuss best practices in both loan and seller due diligence, while reviewing how to locate and evaluate opportunities and current market trends.
  • Amanda TrueBlood from NCUA’s Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives will explore the regulatory side of loan participations.
  • John Pamer, CEO of Diablo Valley Federal Credit Union will round up the discussion sharing his insights from the credit union perspective.

Meet The Presenter:

Mike Dorsett is President of Portfolio Performance LLC, a consulting firm serving credit unions throughout the United States in the areas of loan participations and organic loan growth. Mike has assisted both buyers and sellers in over eighty auto and MBL loan participations over the past two years, totaling more than $300M. Portfolio Performance is registered with the NASBA and conducts educational webinars for continuing education credits in all states. He has recently served as a speaker at the CUNA CFO Conference and conducted a webinar for the NCUA on loan participations. Mike’s education and professional development includes The Ohio State University, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Covey Leadership Center and The Center for Creative Leadership.
