Program Description

Designed to implement the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Regulation V was enacted to ensure the accuracy and integrity of information maintained by consumer reporting agencies. It regulates the collection and use of consumer information and helps protect consumers from the inclusion of inaccurate information in their consumer credit report. In this webinar, Michael Christians of PolicyWorks LLC will discuss your credit union’s responsibilities under Regulation V. You’ll learn about:

  • Limits on the use of information obtained from an affiliate for marketing purposes
  • Requirements for ensuring the accuracy of information submitted by your institution to a consumer reporting agency

Meet The Presenter:

Michael Christians is Training Manager and Compliance Attorney a compliance attorney for PolicyWorks where he assists credit unions across the country with ensuring their compliance programs conform to federal rules. Additionally, he helps credit unions strategically plan for upcoming compliance changes, provides counsel relative to current laws and regulations, and offers training and education services to credit union professionals. Michael brings more than 17 years of experience in the financial services industry. He received his law degree from Drake University Law School and has also earned CUNA’s Credit Union Compliance Expert Designation (CUCE).
